Recently, we hosted a great group of business leaders for the launch event of our new Brighton Bizpedia group! To add to the excitement of the launch, we were able to work with the stunning South Lodge Spa, which was the perfect venue for a day full of networking, competition and great fun in the sun.
Our guests were treated to a well-rounded agenda, starting with a delicious breakfast where attendees could catch up and start breaking the ice for what would be a fantastic day of relationship building.
The morning kicked off with a fiercely competitive round of electronic clay pigeon shooting. It was here that some unexpected hidden talents emerged, with the participants revealing their sharpshooting skills, although I don’t think anyone expected Jack Stean’s expert-level accuracy! It served as a great way to spark the competitive side that a lot of these business leaders were clearly just waiting to unleash!
Next, we moved on to axe throwing! There were some impressive throws, considering the lack of prior experience, but it’s safe to say that yet again, somebody stood above all others in raw viking-like axe throwing prowess — looking at you, Julian Church! It was amazing to see how willing everyone was to give both activities a good go, and it seems that these activities were a very welcome change of pace from the typical nose to the grindstone routine at the office.
After all that action, our guests headed inside to enjoy a relaxing lunch, and after having a whole lot of good fun, conversations flowed easily, and everyone made a strong start on developing some meaningful business relationships.
At Bizpedia, we are always looking for new and exciting ways to bring local business leaders together. Events like these are the perfect opportunity for professionals to unwind, connect, and even discover new talents (whether it’s in clay pigeon shooting or axe throwing!). We can’t wait to host more events like this and continue helping our members network in unique, enjoyable settings.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at South Lodge Spa—your energy and participation truly made the day a success!
“Events like these remind me that networking doesn’t have to mean stale coffee and awkward small talk.
Sometimes, it’s about stepping out of the usual routine, having a laugh, and building relationships in a way that actually sticks 🤝”
